About Me

My name is Maximilian Haedel

I was born in Germany and raised in Belgium, growing up between cultures, languages, and expectations. From an early age, life taught me how to adapt not by choice, but by necessity.

Diagnosed with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and learning disabilities, I struggled to find my place in traditional education. While others followed conventional paths, I learned that success wasn’t going to be handed to me it had to be built differently. I shifted my focus from academic achievement to hands-on learning and found my first passion: the culinary arts.

At 20, I graduated from culinary school and stepped into the demanding world of restaurants, cafés, and bars. Along the way, I faced more than just kitchen heat: a failed first business, financial hardship, the weight of starting over in a new language, and the sharp edges of the hospitality industry. Each setback taught me what no classroom could resilience, resourcefulness, leadership, and the art of building systems that last.

Over the years, I worked from the ground up: from kitchen assistant to head chef, from barista to restaurant manager, and finally to project manager. I built teams, led openings, turned around struggling operations, and learned the real-world mechanics of what makes and breaks a hospitality business.

20 → Graduated Culinary School

22 → First Business Failure

25 → Restarted Career in Hospitality

27 → Promoted to Manager → Project Manager

30 → Founded HAEDEL
